Redmond PD school resource officer honored by VFW
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4108 recently honored Redmond Police School Resource Officer Allen Speck with the 2017 Public Safety Officer of the Year award for law enforcement.
Post Commander Mike Trammel presented the award to Officer Speck during Tuesday’s Redmond City Council meeting. The VFW annually recognizes public safety officers for their outstanding contributions to the community they serve.
“We are proud to present this award to the brave men and women of law enforcement, so they might know their dedication and goodwill are appreciated,” said VFW Post 4108 Commander Mike Trammel.
Criteria for the award includes the demonstration of unwavering dedication to their official responsibilities over a period of years as well as continuous growth in their professional capacity and experience.
“The value of these types of awards cannot be overstated,” said Redmond Police Chief Dave Tarbet. “They serve to promote public trust and support for the Redmond Police Department. We are humbled and grateful to the VFW for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our officers serving the Redmond community.”
