C.O. Law Enforcement Torch Run benefits Special Olympics

KTVZ

Central Oregon Law Enforcement is proud to announce our annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to support Special Olympics Oregon.

This annual run is one of many events members from all Central Oregon Law Enforcement participate in annually to support athletes, generate public awareness for Special Olympics Oregon and assist in helping raise funds for the athletes to compete in a year-round sports program.

The Black Butte Police Department, Sunriver Police Department, Bend Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Redmond Police Department, Warm Springs Police Department and the Madras Police Department will be participating in the Torch Run this year.

On Friday, members from these agencies will meet and then leave from the Bend Police Department at 9:30 am, running to Sunriver and finishing at the North Store, located at 18135 Cottonwood Rd.

This 17-mile run will be supported by numerous staff members from each agency. The officers will be joined by athletes from High Desert Special Olympics.

“We encourage you to visit the Oregon Special Olympics website at Special Olympics Oregon (http://bit.ly/1S4dhyN) to learn more about the Torch Run and see how you can help with the athletes of Oregon Special Olympics,” the law enforcement agencies said.
