2 killed in Salem parking lot shooting; suspect arrested

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Police have arrested a 35-year-old man following a double-homicide in Salem.

Salem police Lt. Dave Okada said Monday that Marcelino Osorio-Jiminez shot two men during a dispute in the parking lot of a strip mall late Sunday night. Witnesses followed the shooter from the lot and officers arrested him a short distance away.

Osorio-Jiminez of Salem has been charged with two counts of murder.

The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Carlos Zepeda-Ponce and 26-year-old Hector Martinez-Arroyo, both from Salem.
