Three teen girls, 14 and 15, arrested in Portland carjackings
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say three teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in a series of strong-arm carjackings.
The Oregonian/Oregon Live reports (http://bit.ly/2xWfYSd) they were arrested after crashing a stolen SUV during a police chase that began late Tuesday. Detectives say the trio was involved in the carjackings and at least one cell phone robbery since the middle of September.
Police said “it is believed there were no weapons displayed or used during the robberies,” but the suspects used force.
The girls – ages 15, 14 and 14 – were booked into juvenile detention on suspicion of crimes including second-degree robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
