Tips sought in Sisters ATM attempted theft

KTVZ

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office released two security photos and asked the public for tips Friday in hopes of identifying the suspect in an attempted theft from a U.S. Bank ATM earlier this month.

The agency received video surveillance on Thursday that shows an apparent adult male at the ATM at 123 West Hood Avenue from 1:41 to 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, Sgt. William Bailey said.

The suspect is seen with a large screwdriver, trying to break into the ATM, Bailey said. It was damaged in the attempted theft, but no money was taken.

The suspect was described as an adult white male wearing all-black clothing, black sunglasses and a black balaclava (ski hood) over his head.

Anyone with information that could help in the investigation was asked to call the sheriff’s office at 541-693-6911, referring to case No. 17-375379.

You can also call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-877-876-TIPS. You can remain anonymous, and tips that lead to an identification and arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
