Power back on for nearly 1,000 Bend Pacific Power customers

KTVZ

An equipment problem caused a power outage affecting nearly 1,000 Pacific Power customers in northwest Bend for more than two hours on a cold Wednesday morning, until repairs were made.

A burned-out “jumper,” the wire that runs from a transformer to the supply line, caused the outage around 7:30 a.m., said utility spokesman Tom Gauntt. The cause of the issue is still being investigated, he added.

An initial estimate posted to the utility’s online outage map gave an estimated time to restore power was noon.

However, power was restored to the area around shortly before 10 a.m., a spokesman said.
