Learn about investing in yourself at spring break hot spots

The Oregon State Treasury is helping Oregonians to invest in themselves, via a trio of programs that allow you to set aside money for higher education tuition and expenses, for retirement, and for costs that impact people with disabilities.

You can learn more about these savings option during Spring Break at three premier family destinations in Oregon. Visitors can get information — and free swag like fidget spinners — at the High Desert Museum in Bend, the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport and the Oregon Zoo in Portland.

In addition, you can win free admission tickets to the Oregon Zoo and to the High Desert Museum, sponsored by the College Savings Plan. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 21 at 11:59 p.m.

Come visit the Oregon Savings Network on these dates. Experts will be on hand from the Oregon College Savings Plan and Oregon ABLE Savings Plan. In addition, they will be able to connect you to information sources about OregonSaves, the pioneering new state-based program that allows more Oregonians to save for retirement at work.

The Oregon State Treasury protects public assets, saves money, and helps Oregonians to invest in themselves and their families through empowerment programs like the Oregon 529 Savings Network and OregonSaves. Treasury oversees public investment, banking, and debt management services. State investment policies are set by the Oregon Investment Council. Treasury also promotes public outreach and education to help Oregonians learn strategies to save money and make smart financial choices.
