Detours set for Redmond’s S. Canal Blvd. project

KTVZ

Construction is underway to improve South Canal Boulevard in Redmond. The City of Redmond is upgrading SW Canal Blvd. to meet current standards for arterials. This project replaces deteriorating pavement on a major route that is an important part of the city’s street network and replaces aging water pipelines.

Construction begins in the southern section, from SW Yew Avenue to Odem Medo Road. Sections of South Canal Blvd. will be closed temporarily during construction, but local access to area homes and businesses will remain open.

Northbound traffic will detour to SW 27th Street and Salmon Avenue, southbound traffic will reroute to Highway 97 and Yew. Construction on the southern section and dTraffic detour routes are shown on the accompanying map.

The next phase of construction on the northern section from Salmon to Obsidian Avenue is scheduled to begin in June. Detour routes will be announced at that time.

The contractor, Knife River Northwest, has established a Construction Hotline number: 541-579-2233.
