State seeks input on revised Fly Creek Inlet no-wake proposal
The Oregon State Marine Board is again seeking public comment after revising a set of proposed rules for the Fly Creek Inlet on Lake Billy Chinook.
The board initiated rulemaking in January to consider a slow-no wake zone in the Fly Creek Inlet. At a quarterly meeting last Wednesday in Salem, the board tabled rulemaking, directing staff to modify the proposed rule language and reinitiate rulemaking.
A board spokeswoman said Monday the board decided to change the scope of the proposed slow-no wake zone to include the docks on either side of the inlet. directing staff to redraft the language and go back out for public input.
The Marine Board will conduct a public hearing on the revised draft language beginning at 9 a.m, during its Wednesday, April 18 meeting. To ensure the board has adequate time to review written comments, citizens are asked to submit them by April 16 at 5 p.m.
Comments can be submitted via email to osmb.rulemaking@oregon.gov or by U.S. mail to: June LeTarte, Administrative Rules Coordinator, 435 Commercial St. NE, Suite 400, Salem, OR 97301. Comments via telephone will not be accepted.
