On late Thursday afternoon at the Deschutes County Courthouse, the jury announced they had reached a unanimous verdict in the trial of Samson Garner after less than 3 hours of deliberation.
Garner is the man at the center of the attempted mass shooting at Smith Rock State Park’s Craggin’ Classic event in October 2023.
Just before 5 p.m., the judge read the jurors’ decision — Garner was found guilty on all 26 counts.
The trial of Samson Garner — the man accused of planning a mass shooting at Smith Rock in late 2023 — continued Tuesday at the Deschutes County Courthouse in Bend, with Garner returning to the stand to testify in his own defense.

Now, Bend Police are using new technology designed to close those gaps and speed up response. It’s called Live911. The software acts as an add-on to the current dispatch system, live-streaming 911 calls directly to officers in the field.
