PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- This week in NewsChannel 21's month-long Clear the Shelters campaign, we pay a visit to the Humane Society of the Ochocos, a "no-kill" shelter founded in 1995 that has helped arrange for hundreds of cats and dogs to find loving homes.

Currently, at the shelter, there are more than 200 cats and about 30 dogs in need of somewhere to call home.

HSO says its mission is to create a community responsible for  for animals, to give shelter to stray and abandoned animals, and give them a loving home.

Kelsey McGee spoke with the shelter manager to learn more about their programs and serves, as well as any planned adoption events. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Six.
