Bend’s New ‘Foodie Crawl’ Helps Feed the Hungry
Bend Community Center’s Feed the Hungry program serves more than 2,000 meals each week to homeless and low-income people. To help with the costs, they throw a lot of fund-raisers. And they held a new one Sunday — the ‘Foodie Crawl.’
During this event, guests got to sample small plates and drinks from the chefs and restaurants featured in the “Sage in the Kitchen” cookbook.
Bend’ Community Center published the cookbook to help raise funds, and they were doing the same with this event.
Organizers are thrilled with the chefs and restaurants donating their time and food.
“Tons of people that put their skills together — all donated their services to create this unique fund-raiser,” said center Executive Director Taffy Gleason.
Some of the participating restaurants included Seventh Mountain Resort, Hola!, the Range Restuarant, 5 Fusion and Baldy’s BBQ.
All of the proceeds from the event, as well as the cookbook, go to the Feed the Hungry Program.
You can purchase the cookbook at the Bend Community Center; the cost is $18.95.
