Driver arrested in Sunriver DUII crash

KTVZ

A visitor from Washington, D.C., faces DUII and possibly other charges after an early-morning crash in Sunriver over the weekend, police said Tuesday.

Sunriver police responded around 1:35 a.m. Sunday to a crash on Abbot Driver near the entrance/exit to the resort community, said Sgt. P.J. Beaty.

Eric John Harrison, 29, of Washington, D.C., was alone in the 2012 Infiniti and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, though the car was totaled, Beaty said.

It appeared Harrison veered off Abbot Drive, destroying two trees and damaging surrounding landscaping, the sergeant said.

Harrison was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail in Bend but released about 7 a.m. after posting 10 percent of his $2,500 bail, jail officers said.

Beaty said the investigation is continuing, and “further charges are being considered.”
