Family Access Network receives $10,000 grant

The Family Access Network is please to announce that it has received a $10,000grant from Trust Management Services to help support the work of the FAN advocates.

“We are very gratefulfor the grant from Trust Management Services. These funds will increase ourability to provide emergency services to children and families who arebattlingto get back on their feet,” said Kristi Miller, FAN Foundation Board Chair.

FAN’smission is to improve lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County haveaccess to basic-need services.

FAN,started in January 1993, currently employs 25advocates in 46 public schools sites(K-12 and early childhood).FAN is unique toDeschutes County, using advocates located on site within the schools toefficientlyreach and connect disadvantaged children and families with essentialservices.

During the 2011-12 school year, FAN served more than 9,200 childrenand their familymembers, connecting them with food, shelter, health care andother critical services.

Trust Management Services funds non-profit organizations throughoutOregon and actively seeks grant applications withemphasison education, community service,cultural, youth activities andhistorical preservation.
