Bethlehem Inn announces two grants

KTVZ

The Bethlehem Inn has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation. The grant funding represents the second and final year of support to increase community involvement and build development capacity to assist in the fulfillment of the Inn’s mission of Transforming Lives with Shelter, Help and Hope for adults and families experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon.

Bethlehem Inn is also the recipient of $13,000 in OCF Donor Advised Funds, which will further support the Inn’s need to increase capacity and programs to serve more individuals and families in crisis.

The mission of The Oregon Community Foundation is to improve life in Oregon and promote effective philanthropy. OCF works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes they care about. Through these funds, OCF awards more than $60 million annually in grants and scholarships.

Also, the Bethlehem Inn has received a commitment from The Collins Foundation for a $20,000 Challenge Grant. The match funding will help support the Inn’s program providing shelter, meals and support services to 1,000 homeless adults and children in Central Oregon.

Each $1,000 donation up to $20,000 will be eligible for the match.

“We are very excited about this endorsement from The Collins Foundation,” stated Gwenn Wysling, Executive Director of the Inn. “This challenge grant means that each $1,000 donation will be matched dollar for dollar for the first $1,000 up to $20,000. Having your money doubled as a result of The Collins Foundation is a great investment for our $1,000+ donors, our residents and our community!”

The Bethlehem Inn provided shelter, food and support to 786 individuals and children last year; 63,000 meals were served to those in crisis. Another 200 non-residents received food and support services.
