Bend residents enjoy first sledding in a while
Never mind that most of the snow has melted.
Give kids a light dusting and some slick grass and they’ll still shoot down the hill.
On Sunday, a couple dozen people of all ages celebrated the first major snowfall of the season with some sledding at Bend’s Drake Park.
One man with two small children said he was enjoying every single snowflake.
“I’m originally from Florida,” he said.
Tots mostly stuck to sledding, but some older kids even did a little bit of snowboarding.
A group of girls said they had been waiting a long time for the snow.
And it wasn’t just kids whizzing down the small hill, many adults joined in–laughing and crashing with their little ones.
