Wake-up scare: Shots fired into home E. of Bend

KTVZ

One second-story window sits unbroken in a home just east of Bend after a frightening early-morning shooting left three others damaged.

Just after 4 a.m., the family living in the home at 62625 Bunchgrass Place was awakened by seven bullets ripping through the glass.

The walls in the second-story living room are now littered with bullet holes. The family says whoever did it shot from the road into their home.

The damage doesn’t end there. One of the pickups parked in the driveway now has three slashed tires. A key was used to write profanity along one side; on the other the same thing, but with spray liner.

The windows also were left covered in the gritty gray material.

The damage to the home adds up to thousands of dollars. The family spent much of Friday cleaning up and patching up the broken windows.

Sheriff’s Capt. Tim Edwards said a small, dark-colored sedan was leaving the area before deputies arrived.

The residents, who allowed us inside but declined to be interviewed, are now waiting for deputies to make an arrest so someone will be held responsible.

If you know anything about this case, you are asked to call the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office through the non-emergency dispatch number at 541-693-6911.
