Inaugural MUSE Women’s Conference a success

KTVZ

“Change begins within” — that was the message at the MUSE Women’s Conference in Bend this weekend.

The three-day event was based around International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, which began Friday.

The conference was taught through art, panel discussions and keynote speakers such as Dr. Tererai Trent, dubbed Oprah Winfrey’s “all-time favorite guest,” as well as focused workshops.

One of those workshops taught women the importance of good eating habits, and demonstrated how to make good nutritional meals.

“We’re hoping that yesterday (Saturday), the conference provided some inspiration, and that today the workshops will give women the ability to get some tools to start moving forward with inspiration,” said MUSE Women’s Conference Founder Amanda Stuermer.

This weekend was the inaugural women’s conference, and over 300 women attended. Stuermer says with such a great turnout and success, they definitely plan to hold another conference in the future.
