Wife hits husband’s pickup on Hwy. 126

KTVZ

A Canyon City couple escaped injury on Hwy. 126 east of Powell Butte Wednesday when the car she was driving crashed into the back of her husband’s pickup after he stopped behind other traffic, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies responded around 10 a.m. to the reported crash at Hwy. 126 and SW Parrish Road, said Deputy Mitch Madden. The first report was that one of two vehicles involved had crashed through a fence.

Deputies determined Julie Reynolds, 63, was driving a 1998 Buick four-door heading east, following her husband, Dennis Reynolds, also 63, driving a 2000 Ford F150 pickup truck, Madden said.

Dennis Reynolds had stopped due to traffic ahead of him stopping for a car turning north onto Parrish Road, Madden said. His wife was not paying attention, the deputy said, and struck the back of her husband’s pickup at about 50 mph.

There was no immediate word of any citations. Crook County Fire and Rescue, ODOT and Dave’s Towing also assisted at the scene, Madden said.
