Andy Goggins, Director of Marketing and Communications at Mt. Bachelor, said
“Mt. Bachelor is excited to support the education foundations in this unique fundraising program. With Ski for Schools, we can offer an incredible deal on lift tickets to our local community while contributing to our area schools, a win-win for students, skiers and snowboarders alike!”
Heather Vihstadt, Executive Director of the Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools shared, “We are extremely grateful to Mt. Bachelor for their ongoing support of our mission. The funds raised for our district largely support the Activity Fee Scholarship Program, providing financial aid for middle and high school youth in need for sports registration fees.
Since the recession, the need has been immense and studies show that student engagement in after-school programs yields significant returns to both individuals and society as a whole.
Benefits include improved school attendance, betterment of test scores, higher graduation rates, and an increased likelihood to pursue college. In addition, sports participation can foster team building, goal setting, and healthy lifestyle choices while simultaneously reducing juvenile crime, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy.”
Bill Schulte conveyed that the Redmond Education Foundation also utilizes the proceeds for costs related to after-school programming and additionally, for scholarships to seniors.
Tickets are limited and will NOT be sold at the Mt. Bachelor ticket windows, so purchase them at an area retailer now!
