An injured California woman was flown to a Bend hospital for treatment early Monday after a rollover crash on icy Hwy. 20E about 60 miles east of Bend, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies were dispatched shortly before 6 a.m. to the crash near at milepost 61, near Hampton, said Lt. Chad Davis.

An investigation found that Scott Farnsworth, 23, of Redding, Calif., was driving westbound on the highway when he lost control of his white 2003 GMC Sierra pickup on an icy stretch of the highway, Davis said.

The truck left the road and overturned, leaving Farnsworth with minor injuries. Passenger Rachelle Lynn Arrowsmith, 27, of Cottonwood, Calif., was flown by Life Flight helicopter to St. Charles-Bend, where a spokeswoman said she was treated and released.

Highway 20E was shut down for a brief time so the pickup could be towed from the scene. ODOT responded and assisted with traffic control, Davis said.

No citations were issued in the case, he added.
