Two jailed in drug sales near Marshall HS

Tips from several concerned citizens led to a raid Sunday on an apartment about a block north of Marshall High School and the arrest of two residents for selling marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms to several students over the past month, police said.

Officers executed the search warrant around 11 a.m. at 465 NE Olney Avenue, contacting Jeremy Ryan Burkett, 28, and Jameson Leigh Williams, 30, as well as two other adults in the apartment, said Sgt. Brian Beekman.

A search of the residence turned up several items of evidence implicating Burkett as the “primary suspect” in the drug sales to minors, the sergeant said.

Officers found marijuana packaged for sale, more than two ounces of processed marijuana, “Medibles (cannabis-influenced foods), drug proceeds, psilocybin mushrooms and other items used in drug packaging and distribution, according to Beekman.

Burkett and Williams were taken to the Deschutes County Jail, with Burkett held on $365,000 bail on six counts of delivering marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, five counts of delivering marijuana to a minor as well as other possession and delivery charges involving the mushrooms. Williams faces conspiracy drug delivery charges, with an initial bail of $50,000.
