DRW dirt-bike crash injures Bend man

KTVZ

A 38-year-old Bend man suffered non-life-threatening injuries Sunday evening when he lost control of his speeding dirt bike and it crashed into a rock embankment in Deschutes River Woods, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies and Bend Fire medics responded around 5:25 p.m. to the reported crash near 60270 Crater Road, south of Bend, said Sgt. Ty Rupert.

An initial investigation found that Chris Rosiello was riding on the road “at excessive speed” when the crash occurred, Rupert said.

Rosiello, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Bend with non-life-threatening injuries, the sergeant said. A nursing supervisor said he was treated at the hospital and released.

While speed was determined to be a contributing cause to the crash, alcohol was not, Rupert said. There was no word on whether any citations have been or will be issued.
