Transient arrested in SE Bend motel stabbing

KTVZ

A 44-year-old Redmond transient was arrested early Monday in the stabbing of a roommate during a dispute at a southeast Bend motel, police said.

Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to the Chalet Motel, 510 SE Third Street, on a reported domestic dispute, said Sgt. Dan Ritchie.

They learned Brenda Elaine Carroll, 44, and Lonny Reed, 68, both transients from Redmond, were staying together at the motel and had a domestic dispute that escalated, leading to Carroll stabbing Reed with a knife, Ritchie said.

Bend Fire Department medics took Reed to St. Charles Bend for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Carroll was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Deschutes County Jail, where she was lodged on charges of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. She was held on initial bail of $60,000, jail records showed.
