Work begins on Redmond Dry Canyon Gateway

KTVZ

The city of Redmond said it is beginning construction of the American Legion, Dry Canyon Gateway on Thursday.

The gateway encompasses about one-half acre on the corner of Highland Avenue and Rimrock Way, adjacent to American Legion Park.

The city acquired the property with the desire to beautify the highly visible parcel and develop it as an entry into the Dry Canyon.

The project includes grading, pathway development, irrigation installation, stone wall bench seating and initial landscaping.

There will be no disruption to traffic, but occasional sidewalk limitations will occur periodically throughout construction, and these will be clearly signed, officials said

The project is due to be completed by early April. After the construction is complete, the Parks Division will be hosting a public volunteer event to plant trees on site and finish final landscaping.
