Registration for Bend Endurance Academy summer rock climbing programs is now open. The programs focus on getting kids outside and introduced to climbing outdoors in a safe and welcoming environment.
Camps will take place at the world-class climbing destination of Smith Rock State Park and include transportation, equipment, and instruction. The summer programs are geared towards youth participants who may have already experienced climbing in a gym.
“The four-day-long day camps are a great way for kids who are excited about rock climbing to immerse themselves in the sport for a couple days under the instruction of a professional guide and youth climbing coach,” states BEA climbing director Mike Rougeux.
There will be three camps offered beginning in July with two introductory level programs for youth ages 12 – 16 years of age and conclude with an advanced camp for more experienced teen climbers in August.
All of the summer climbing camps will depart from Bend Endurance Academy offices at 9:00 am and return to town at 4:00 pm.
Smith Camp 1: July 7 – 10, 2015
Smith Camp 2: July 21 – 24, 2015
Advanced Rock Camp: August 4 – 7, 2015
