Pet Evacuation Team seeks help in rescue efforts

KTVZ

Pet Evacuation Team, a local 501(C)(3) nonprofit, is assisting Klamath Large Animal Division (Klamath Falls Humane Society), which is at full capacity, and the Lake Co. Sheriff’s Dept. with 7 thin, neglected horses that are being seized.

The horses will go into foster care at some of the P.E.T. volunteers’ properties, but will need extra veterinary attention and special diets to recover.

P.E.T. is also assisting a neighborhood in Culver with capturing domesticated rabbits that have taken over the neighborhood. A local sanctuary is creating a rabbit habitat for about 20 of the rabbits, but P.E.T. hopes to help this group with supplies and veterinary care. Other rabbits will be transported to Oregon Humane Society and four will go to P.E.T. approved volunteers.

Donations are needed to help with both cases. Donations can be accepted through the mail at P.E.T., P.O. Box 922 Redmond, Oregon 97756 or made securely online at www.petevacuationteam.com
