KTVZ

This is KPOV 88.9 High Desert Community Radio 10 th year on the air and they are holding their 10 th Anniversary Spring Membership Drive April 17-24.

KPOV is the only non-profit public radio station originating from Bend, broadcasting throughout Deschutes County and the Prineville area. The community station is supported by listeners and local businesses, and powered by over 100 volunteers.

To show its appreciation for listeners who join or renew with KPOV by the Membership Drive’s first day, KPOV will be holding an Early Bird Prize Drawing. All membership donations received before 5:00 p.m. on April 17 will be entered into a special drawing for a $50 gift card for Zydeco restaurant in Bend.

“As a non-commercial radio station, we depend on the support of listeners who take the step to become KPOV members.” says KPOV Station Manager Pearl Stark. “Early donors get our membership drives off to a strong start and encourage others to jump on board.”

The goal of the membership drive is to raise $22,000 to help support KPOV programming and operations throughout 2015 and 2016. KPOV offers thank you gifts at various member levels. Gifts include KPOV’s 10 th anniversary baseball caps, t-shirts, Silipints, and hand-made ceramic mugs. KPOV will also hold daily prize drawings during on-air pledge breaks, plus a Grand Prize drawing for two tickets to Lyle Lovett at Les Schwab Amphitheater in July.

2 DAYS SHORTER

KPOV’s Spring Membership Drive will be two days shorter than usual this year in celebration of their 10 th Anniversary. “We wanted to get our listeners back to the programs they love more quickly this year. Our goal is to keep membership drives shorter from now on, if we can raise the funds we need in fewer days,” says Development Director Bruce Morris.

KPOV LOOKS FOR GROUPS TO VOLUNTEER DURING MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

KPOV is also asking businesses and non-profit groups to volunteer to answer phones during the fall membership drive. Groups and businesses who have participated in past years include: The Environmental Center, Central Oregon PFLAG, Center for Car Donations, Social Justice Center, the Downtown Bend Business Association, Jobs with Justice, and many others.
