The Deschutes National Forest and Discover Your Forest, a non-profit organization that supports stewardship and volunteer opportunities on the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests, are hosting a Natural Resource Career Fair for high school youth called, “Finding Your Niche in Natural Resources.”

The Natural Resource High School Career Fair is for students, grades 9-12, from Deschutes, Jefferson, Klamath and Crook counties. It will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Hope Church, 20080 Pinebrook Blvd, Bend, Ore.

The fair will include more than twenty-five natural resource organizations from education, recreation, non-profit, federal and state agencies. Representatives will host booths highlighting volunteer, internship and job opportunities for youth. Local natural resource professionals will host focus sessions to provide information about their organizations, the skills involved in different types of jobs, and what steps to take between high school and applying for a full time job.
