Vietnam War veterans ‘welcomed home’ in Warm Springs

KTVZ

This week, America is marking the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. And one such event was held Wednesday in Warm Springs, with a “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans” parade and expo.

Organizers said the event was held to publicly welcome home and honor Vietnam veterans, as well as educate the public and the younger generation about the negative reception many veterans had upon their return home.

Like many such parades, there were numerous flags and well-wishers along the route.

A veterans services expo also was held to provide services needed by veterans.

NewsChannel 21’s Jennifer Wade was at Wednesday’s event, talking with the veterans, and you can see her report tonight on NewsChannel 21 at 4 on Fox and 5/6 on NBC.
