NWS holds Madras weather spotter training Friday

Volunteers are being sought to participate in the latest weather spotter training on Friday in Madras. Weather spotters trained by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service are key volunteers who assist the meteorologists by providing up-to-date information about storm activity.

The Skywarn Weather Spotter training is free and will be held in the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Conference Room, located at 675 NW Cherry Lane, beginning at 2 p.m. The training is being co-sponsored by Jefferson County Emergency Management.
