Coos Bay couple awarded $4.5 million for failed spinal surgery
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Multnomah County jury has awarded a Coos Bay married couple more than $4.5 million after the husband suffered lifelong injuries from a failed spinal surgery.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (http://bit.ly/2vCnnYN ) 30-year-old Jason Croff was awarded $94,000 in economic losses and $3.5 million in noneconomic damages for pain and suffering. His wife earned $1 million for loss of consortium with her husband.
Croff says the surgery left him with difficulty urinating and numbness in his genital area.
The jury awarded the Croffs after an eight-day trial. They decided neurosurgeon Warren Roberts and Aspen Spine and Neurosurgery Center were negligent.
