DCSO: Several rescued horses up for adoption

KTVZ

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has begun accepting applications from those interested in adopting one of about 50 horses being made available from their rescue ranch in southeast Bend.

Most of the horses being put up for adoption are among a total of 83 horses that were removed from a Terrebonne property last spring, 16 of which had to be euthanized.

Linda Stream and her daughter, Christina Hart entered no-contest pleas last month to 10 counts of second-degree animal neglect and are due for sentencing Oct. 30.

If you want to adopt one of about 50 horses available, you’ll need to fill out an application through the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said they’ll be putting photos and biographies of the horses up on their website soon. They also said they’re willing to arrange an in-person meeting with the horses.
