The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools received $1,757 from Avid Cider Co. for a charity give back event held on Sept. 14 to celebrate 30 years of service to the K-12 educational community.

Sam McCoy, owner of Avid Cider and a board member, hosted the community celebration which featured lived music and a kayak raffle that raised additional funds. Scholarships for graduating Latino students and Perseverance Award recipients are also Foundation programs.

The Foundation’s work affects the greater population of 18,375 students and 2000 educators and staff equitably within the Bend-La Pine school district. To donate or find out more about the Education Foundation, contact Michelle Johnson, Executive Director, (541) 355-5660, www.engagedminds.org.
