Happy Friday evening, everyone!

A ridge of high pressure has anchored in offshore giving us clear skies and a very sunny day. Temperatures were into the upper 60s and lower 70s today, so we’re above average! Average daytime highs are in the mid 60s at the airport in Redmond.

Expect calm conditions overnight with clear skies. Winds will be light and variable tonight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Saturday starts with clear skies and cool start. We’ll see that sunshine extending through the weekend. Winds will be breezy at times Saturday and Sunday as a wave moves through bringing cooler air. Highs for Saturday will be cooler than Friday’s in the upper 50s and lower 60s. The wind chill might make it feel a few degrees cooler. We’ll see a few clouds over the weekend.

Overnight into Sunday expect downright cold — even frigid! — temperatures to begin the day. Many of us will see temperatures in the teens and lower 20s just before sunrise on Sunday. Clear skies will be overhead and daytime highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s again.

The beginning of the week brings warmer daytime highs in the mid to upper 60s getting us back to average. Skies will be sunny as we head into the middle of October.

Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 60s by Monday. By Tuesday most of Central Oregon will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with sunshine overhead.
