Local Alert Weather – Thurs.

KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY is in effect through Tuesday morning for poor air quality levels. Those with respiratory problems will notice the poor levels over the next few days. The air mass is not moving and therefore trapping pollutants closer to the surface creating poor air quality at times. It is advised to avoid burning at this time.

Overnight we’ll see mostly clear skies and warmer overnight lows than we saw last night and early this morning. Temperatures will dip into the mid to upper 20s and lower 30s. Winds will stay calm. Expect air quality to be poor for some locations early tomorrow morning specifically up towards the north in Jefferson County.

Tomorrow sees more sunshine as high pressure sits overhead. Sunny skies will stay with us throughout the day along with the haze from the smoke. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s on Friday, which is about 10 degrees above normal.

The weekend will be pleasant as well, but enjoy it while it lasts! Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Sunshine and smoky skies will be overhead. Most of the smoke will be closer to Camp Sherman and the Metolius area, but will drift into other parts of Central Oregon.

The beginning of next week begins the cool down. Monday will still be dry, sunny, and mild with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

By Tuesday more clouds will be overhead and the chance for rain showers develops by the evening. We fall into the low to mid 60s for daytime highs at this point, which will feel chilly. At this time, Wednesday and Thursday look to have the best chances for rain showers.
