Felled hazard trees along Hwy. 26 to be removed

KTVZ

A contractor will be working to remove trees cut along a section of U.S. Highway 26 running through the Ochoco National Forest near Ochoco Divide, starting Monday.

Trees with recognized potential to cause damage or injury along the highway were cut by Oregon Department of Transportation personnel last summer. T he Forest Service subsequently sold the trees as a commercial forest product.

The contractor that purchased the trees will begin operations to remove them on Monday. Travelers can expect brief delays as traffic control will allow safe removal of the trees. Drivers are encouraged to use caution while traveling this section of U.S. Highway 26.
