Santa hitches helicopter ride, lands in Bend’s Old Mill

KTVZ

Hopefully you haven’t been crying or pouting, because Santa Claus came to town Friday morning.

He parked his sleigh at St. Charles in Bend, then went a little more modern, opting for an AirLink helicopter to get to the Les Schwab Amphitheater. He was joined by NewsChannel 21’s Jessie Foster.

Hundreds of kids and parents waited for him at the amphitheater, braving the cold and rainy conditions just to see St. Nick in person.

“I came from California because I want to see Santa,” one spirited child said.

When Santa climbed out of the chopper, he was met with a throng of kids who wanted nothing more than to give him a hug — and maybe drop some hints about what they want for Christmas.
