Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
Tonight we’ll see the arrival of a warm front bringing in some showers up from the south. Between now and midnight we’re expected to be dry before chances for mixed showers kick up. Winds will be breezy at times out of the southeast. Overnight lows will be at their coldest around midnight when we bottom out in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
The warm front moves through by tomorrow morning, so we’ll start with warmer temperatures than we’ll have around midnight. Mixed showers will leave us with icy roads along with the concern for freezing rain. The freezing rain concern is mainly left for north central Oregon and counties to our north.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for higher elevations in Central Oregon or areas on the east slopes of the Cascades. The advisory expires by Wednesday morning.
Snow levels:
Monday PM: 2,800′. Tuesday AM: 6,000′. Tuesday PM: 5,800′.
Showers should break up by noon on Tuesday as the front lifts to the north. Jefferson county will need to be aware of freezing rain chances and icy roads. Highs for Tuesday will peak in the upper 30s and lower 40s, which is around average.
We’re left with the chance for a few rain showers Wednesday as this system wraps up. Wednesday will be about 10 degrees above average in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Temperatures trend above normal through the end of the week and weekend.
After Wednesday we will see variable clouds, mild temperatures, and cool nights through the end of the extended forecast.
