Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM
Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!
Freezing fog is blanketing Central Oregon this evening creating low visibility and slick, icy roads. When driving tonight take your time and slow down rounding corners. Fog is expected to linger into tomorrow morning, but tomorrow should see changes. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s because of the fog, so not much colder than where we’ve been all day! We have a chance for mixed showers tonight.
Tomorrow looks to begin with the patchy freezing fog. We have a 30-45% of seeing some mixed showers tomorrow, but mainly closer to the Cascades. Snow levels will go from 4,600′ tonight then rising to 5,600′ tomorrow morning. Winds pick up through the second half of the day, so we should see the fog lift as a result. Winds will gust up to 25 to 30 miles per hour. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 40s when the fog clears.
As we head into Thursday we’ll see dry conditions and mild daytime highs. Temperatures top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is about 10 degrees warmer than average. Daytime highs and lows will trend about 10 degrees above average for the next several days.
