Local Alert Weather – Saturday

KTVZ

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Saturday begins with snow levels around 5,700′. Throughout the day we have some chances for showers specifically picking up in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is still above average. Winds won’t be too breezy, but will gust around 10 to 15 miles per hour. Snow levels end the day around 5,200′.

Expect the mountain passes to develop spots of ice and areas of packed snow over the weekend. By Sunday night we will see more packed snow than anything else on the roads.

As cool air moves in we will continue to see snow levels fall. By the end of the weekend snow levels will be around 1,800′. Sunday’s daytime highs will be noticeably cooler in the upper 30s and lower 40s. We see a chance for mixed showers becoming more snow showers by the end of the day Sunday.

We begin next week with likely some snow across Central Oregon and a cold start. Daytime highs will struggle to get out of the 30s. Snow levels will be very low, so any precipitation we see across Central Oregon would be in the form of snow. Monday will start with some snow showers, so prepare for a slower commute Monday morning.

Overnight lows will fall into the teens next week, which puts us below average for this time of year. Temperatures will climb through the end of next week.
