Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

Tonight we’ll see a slight chance for a few snow flurries with increasing clouds. Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies will be overhead tonight with dry conditions. Overnight lows will be in the teens, which will cause all the snow that melted today to refreeze into chunks of ice. Winds will be calm.

Friday morning begins with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies, but cloud will roll in by the afternoon. We end the day with a chance for snow showers and mostly cloudy skies. Accumulations on the High Desert would be minimal, but higher elevations could see up to 2″. Highs will be cooler than Thursday’s in the low to mid 30s.

Into Saturday the showers will move east and Central Oregon will begin to dry out heading into the weekend. We’ll see mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies Saturday with highs in the low to mid 30s. Sunday will be slightly cooler, but a little sunnier with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies expected.

Over the weekend we will see the freeze-thaw pattern continue with road temperatures getting into the 50s and lower 60s and then cooling into the 20s overnight. Prepare for snow melt and ponding on the roadways during the afternoon. Icy spots and slick roads will be present during the evenings and early mornings.

Monday’s temperatures bounce back into the upper 30s and lower 40s, so expect more melting then. We’ll also see mostly sunny skies for most of the day. The afternoon and evening on Monday bring increasing clouds and chances for mixed showers.

Tuesday will see the best chance for mixed showers over the next several days. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s. Roads will be slick during this time.

Be safe out there!
