Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 4-4-19

Good Thursday Morning, Everyone…
A gentle, but warm and wet flow out of the south will keep rain showers in our forecast beginning today and lasting for the next few days. Today’s highs will reach the upper 50’s to low 60’s and southerly breezes will be gentle at 5-10 mph. Rain is likely to continue through the night ahead. Lows will be in the mid to upper 30’s and if you see any breeze at all, it will be out of the south.
The freezing level in the Cascades will be between 5,550′ and 6.500′ for the next few days, so the passes will see rain while the mountain tops will get a little fresh snow. The freezing level will drop back down to around 4,000′ Tuesday, so we will see the chance of showers return to snow.
The High Desert will see daytime highs in the mid to upper 50’s until Tuesday when a little cooler air invades and pulls those highs back to the low 50’s. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 30’s until then, as well. Beginning Tuesday lows will drop to around freezing. Rain showers, heavy at times and intermittent at others, will stay with us through the weekend and into next week. About the time those cooler temperatures set in the chance of showers will diminish. We may see some snow on the high desert through the middle of the week, but it is not expected to be very heavy.
