Oklahoma revokes license of teacher who gave class QR code to Brooklyn library in book-ban protest

A former public high school teacher in Oklahoma had her teaching license revoked by the State Board of Education Thursday for providing students a link to a list of banned books posted online two years prior. The state superintendent claimed that the teacher, Summer Boismier, “broke the law” and was in violation of legislation that prohibits teachings on race, gender, and sexuality. Boismier and her attorney maintain that she did nothing wrong. The former Norman High School English instructor is one of many teachers across the country who have been thrown into the crosshairs of conservative scrutiny over a renewed interest in public education.
