Central Oregon continues to see periods of snow
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for areas along US97 and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for most of Crook County and portions of southeastern Deschutes and Jefferson county. Both are active until mid-morning Wednesday. Additional snow accumulations, on top of yesterday’s snow, will be between 3-5” for Crook County and 2-4” along 97.

A big concern this morning will be icy roads. Back roads and rural roads will be unattended and treated roads likely developed a layer of ice underneath the snow. Even after being plowed, roads will be slick. Drive safely and take your time.

Today, the low pressure spinning off the coast will continue to bring in a surge of moisture in the form of snow. Today is set up similarly to yesterday. We should see snow begin again around noontime and continue steadily through the afternoon. Although it will be light in our local cities, it will fall consistently and allow us to get a few more inches on top of what we have. Some of the higher, eastern elevations could see heavy snow at times.
We’ll see periods of light snow through the day Wednesday. After that, we could see some lingering snow on Thursday and Friday, but overall, it will start tapering off.
Have a good day. Happy Tuesday.
