Mt. Bachelor receives fresh snow, with more expected

DESCHUTES COUNTY, Ore. (KTVZ) — Mt.Bachelor recently received seven inches of fresh snow and expects up to 10 more, promising snowy conditions for the final weekend celebration. Mt. Bachelor will close its 2025-26 winter season on Sunday, April 19, coinciding with the four-day RendezVan festival.

The spring snowfall comes as our Chief Meteorologist John Carroll has enacted Local Alert Weather Days on Wednesday and Thursday for mountain snow, travel trouble over the passes, and gusty winds.

Up to 10 additional inches of fresh snow are expected throughout the day. Temperatures are forecast to be in the 20s, accompanied by strong winds.

RendezVan, described by the resort as "the ultimate celebration of spring skiing and riding, live music and van-life culture," returns Thursday, April 16. The festival also serves as the major end-of-season party, boosted by the recent spring snowstorm and ongoing snowfall.

The free-to-attend RendezVan festival will open at noon Thursday, April 16 and continue through Sunday, April 19. The event features a range of activities including live performances, a skate park, a silent disco, line dancing, bike relays, dog races and yoga. Attendees can also participate in axe-throwing and enjoy various food carts. The resort will offer extended hours on its Pine Marten lift during the festival.

KTVZ News confirmed on Monday with the resort that Sunday, April 19, will remain Mt. Bachelor's final day of operations for the 2025-26 season, despite the significant new snowfall.

The resort promises that the weekend will be "a true showcase Central Oregon's community and mountain lifestyle."

Mt. Bachelor will host its ultimate closing weekend party with RendezVan from Thursday, April 16, through Sunday, April 19, marking the official end of the 2025-26 winter season.
