SANDY Ore. (KPTV) - Three people were killed and an officer was seriously hurt during a domestic disturbance and shooting in Sandy on Sunday evening.

Court documents identify the suspect as 38-year-old Bryan Andrew Moore.

According to court documents, Moore is accused of killing Jenna Mary Overson, Mary Beth Overson and Kobyn McClure. Court documents did not list the ages of the victims. FOX 12 is working to learn more about the victims.

Moore was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, officers with the Sandy Police Department and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of Ross Ave and Evans Street on the report of a domestic disturbance and shooting.

During that response, Chief Huskey said “officers and deputies came under a gunfire and returned fire at this time.”

Witnesses at the scene told FOX 12 they heard multiple gunshots.

One SPD officer, identified in court documents as Garrett Thornton, was shot multiple times and was rushed to the hospital, where he is expected to survive, Chief Huskey said.

Moore barricaded himself inside a home for hours, which prompted a heavy SWAT response and tactical response. Shortly after 5 p.m., police asked people who live near the incident to lock their doors and stay inside.

Sandy police said at about 8:30 p.m. that Moore was in custody and the shelter in place order had been lifted.

Chief Huskey said there was no further danger to the community, and the investigation is continuing.

“This is a traumatic event for our community and the Sandy Police Department, and I know many people are grieving. I ask everyone in our community to keep the victims and our injured officer and families, friends, and all the first responders in their thoughts tonight,” Chief Huskey said.
