Warm Monday before cooler, wetter weather arrives in Central Oregon

Central Oregon will start the week warm and sunny before a cooler and wetter weather pattern arrives Tuesday.

Tonight will be mostly clear with lows in the 40s across Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville.

Monday will be sunny and warm, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s. North winds could gust to around 20 mph during the afternoon.

Changes begin Tuesday as clouds increase and a chance of showers returns. Central Oregon has a 50% chance of rain showers Tuesday, with highs falling into the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Temperatures turn noticeably cooler Wednesday. Highs are expected in the mid-60s to lower 70s across Central Oregon, with another 50% chance of showers.

The best chance for widespread rain arrives Wednesday night into Thursday. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 90% chance of precipitation Wednesday night, followed by a 70% chance of rain showers Thursday. Highs Thursday will only reach the mid to upper 60s.

Along the east slopes of the Cascades, Wednesday night carries a near 100% chance of precipitation. Rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms are expected Thursday, with a 90% chance of precipitation.

Showers could linger into Friday before precipitation chances decrease heading into the weekend.

Highs Saturday are expected in the upper 60s to lower 70s across Central Oregon, with lower to mid-70s possible Sunday.
