Madras to elect Mayor and City Council Members in November

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Voters in Madras will be electing a new Mayor in November. Mayor Mike Lepin has announced he is not running for reelection. Lepin has served as Mayor since 2023.

Voters in Madras will also be electing three City Council Members on the November ballot.

Below are the offices voters will see on their ballot:

Mayor (One volunteer elected position) - Term of Office: January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2028
Currently held by Mike Lepin 

City Council (Three City-wide volunteer elected positions) - Term of Office: January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2030:
Currently held by Mike Seibold
Currently held by Cindy Brockett
Currently a Vacant Council position

“Strong communities depend on people who are willing to serve,” said Mayor Mike Lepin. “Whether you have lived in Madras for a few years or your entire life, your experience, perspective, and commitment to the community matter. I encourage residents who are interested in helping shape the future of Madras to learn more about serving as Mayor or City Councilor.”

According to the city, "to be eligible for election, candidates must be qualified electors under Oregon law and have resided within the City of Madras for at least one year immediately preceding the election."
