Mt. Bachelor kicks off summer season June 25 with bike park, events and new activities

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Mt. Bachelor will begin its summer operations on Thursday, June 25, offering a downhill bike park, sunset dinners and other activities.
The summer season includes new events and operational updates, such as youth-focused biking events, trail running races and new disc golf courses.
Guests can access amenities including overnight camping, retail at the Mt. Bachelor Sports Pro Shop and dining options at Rock Bar in the West Village base area and Scapolos at 7,800 feet.
Sun Country Tours is offering a 25% discount on guided whitewater rafting trips on the Big Eddy from June 16 to June 21 as part of its Dad's & Grads promotion. Full-day trips on the Lower Deschutes and Mackenzie River are also available to book online.
Mt. Bachelor is adding new events and increasing the frequency of local favorites like Yoga in the Wild and Movies in the Mountains for the summer season.
New bike park competitions include Little Rollers, a youth event for children ages three to nine, held on select Sundays on the Strider Course and the Little Pine trail system. This event aims to introduce young riders to mountain biking.
Moon Booter Maddness, a jam-format freestyle bike competition, is scheduled for Aug. 22. It will take place on Red Line's largest feature, the Moon Booter, where riders can showcase their style, creativity and technical skills. The top three riders in each category will receive an invitation to compete at Red Line Rally.
The Friday Night Race Series will feature new chip timers and a category for Grom Girls, female-identifying riders 11 and under. Competitors will attach a timing device to their front fork, which provides data directly to Webscorer.
The NW Cup Downhill Series, presented by Specialized, will feature top downhill riders from across the Northwest from Aug. 7 to Aug. 9. The seven-part race series will include lift-served practice, happy hours, giveaways, family competitions and camping. Mt. Bachelor's Bike Park will be closed to non-racers during this event.
Mt. Bachelor will host four Bike Park meet ups specifically for women, including transgender, cisgender, nonbinary and any femme-identifying persons. These meet ups offer exclusive access to Red Line, après hangouts and opportunities to learn, progress and participate in a supportive environment with members of Mt. Bachelor's female Bike Park ambassador team.
A new intermediate trail, Little Dipper, will join Mt. Bachelor's Bike Park this summer. Accessible off the Little Pine chairlift, the trail offers semi-technical single-track and small rock features for progressing and building confidence on blue trails.
New running races include Bachelor Ascent, presented by All Conditions Gear, on Sept. 12. This trail running event will feature three loop courses: 50K, 28K, 16K and 5K. Each race will ascend to the 9,000-foot summit of Mt. Bachelor.
The Bachelor Summit Trailfest, presented by Wonderland Running, is scheduled for Oct. 4 and 5. This event offers three fully-stocked aid stations and six-hour, 12-hour and 24-hour loops, allowing athletes to explore various trail options and distances.
Mt. Bachelor will carry the Devinci Chainsaw in sizes small through extra-large as its performance rental bike offering, with both DH and Enduro models. Guests can opt for rental packages, which include protective equipment and Bike Park access, or à la carte bikes and accessories.
Kids Bike Camps begin on July 6, with 3-day and five-day options for youth ages eight to 15. Campers are grouped by ability, with terrain choices including a skills park, single-track XC routes and lift-accessed downhill trails. Discounted Bike Park passes and rentals are available with the purchase of a camp and transportation from the Bend Park N Ride to Mt. Bachelor is included.
Mt. Bachelor's Child care Center in West Village Lodge is a state-licensed facility offering care for infants six weeks to children 10 years old. The Child care Center will operate seven days a week with half and full day options.
Sun Country Tours river tube rentals now include an electric golf cart shuttle service from the Park N Ride to the river and back, providing an easy and hassle-free float experience. These street-legal vehicles are open-sided and compact. Tube rentals and shuttles are available daily, starting at Riverbend Park and finishing at Drake Park.
Mt. Bachelor will sponsor Free Kids Wednesdays at the Bend Elks stadium, making games accessible for local families. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Mt. Bachelor will give away lift tickets and other prizes at games throughout the summer and Marty the Pine Marten will make appearances on select evenings.
Mt. Bachelor will introduce two new free disc golf courses at the Nordic Center. The Green Course features nine holes ranging from 200 to 400 feet with a 60-foot elevation gain and 40-foot elevation loss, taking roughly one hour to play. The more difficult Black Diamond Course features 18 holes ranging from 200 to 600 feet with a 185-foot elevation gain and 157-foot elevation loss, taking closer to 2 hours. Both courses start and finish near the Nordic Lodge.
Returning events include Sunset Dinners, held Thursday through Sunday starting June 25 and the Friday Night Race Series on select Fridays throughout the summer. Other returning events are Red Line Rally on Aug. 29, Mountain Clean Up presented by Pepsi on July 19, Yoga in the Wild on select Thursdays throughout the summer, Movies in the Mountains every Friday in October and Ask a Ranger every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday starting July 10.
